It's hard to believe we've been home since Saturday...and now Wednesday is coming to a close... time if flying by so fast! How can someone so small and tiny can make such a big difference in our lives? Caroline has been such a great addition to our family! Hunter absolutely loves her... its awesome watching him interact with her and trying to understand what she can and can't do...
Hunter will tell you...that Caroline eats, sleeps, and cries... that's about it... he's ready for her to eat yogurt with him, play cars (she's already got her own pink car).. ride on the gator..b/c duh, only boys can drive the gator... and so much more..he could go on and on...
Hunter has been such a great helper... he loves "changing her diaper"... he's in charge of getting the diaper in the Diaper Champ/Trash and getting dirty clothes to the clothes hamper ...he also loves to burp her (with a little help of course)... he thinks this is so special!!! I can't wait for him to give her a bottle! It won't be too much longer!
We've been adjusting to Caroline eating all the time... she likes to eat about every 1 1/2 right now... and of course she loves to eat and be awake at night... this is a huge difference from Hunter... she will sleep longer periods of time during the day and then wake up most of the night to eat... Hunter was pretty even on his days and nights~although, now he's a morning person... Caroline likes to sleep-in during the morning.. this should be interesting!
We had our first doc apptmt yesterday... We first had to take Caroline to the hospital to have her tested for jaundice... her levels kept climbing as we left the hospital on Friday/Saturday...so, the doctor wanted to have her tested again today... this was very traumatic for us... we had a rookie nurse (at least we feel that she was)... she had to prick both of Caroline's feet and still didn't get enough blood to do the test.. she called her supervisor in and on the 3rd total time to try got enough blood for the test ...they were successful! After this we headed to the doctor office... we were a little nervous at first when the nurse there said her level was elevated and she might need to go back to the hospital for further testing ... but after the doctor looked her over he seemed pleased with her progress and said to just watch her and he would see us next week! What a relief!
Caroline weighed in at 7lbs 9.5 oz at the doctor office... she's climbing back up to her birth weight of 7lbs 15 oz...
We've been enjoying the nice warm weather outside... it feels so weird taking a week old baby outside... but its been so nice its hard to resist!
I love it when Hunter tells Caroline that she is "so sweet" or that he "loves her".. its the most precious music to my ears!
Here are some pictures... I'm sure everyone has been waiting for!

Yea! Thanks for the update! I've been anxiously awaiting an update (especially the pictures), but I know you've had your hands full! I'm glad to hear that everything is going so well & to hear what a great helper Hunter is! Caroline is absolutely precious & seems to be getting even cuter daily - is that even possible? Congrats again on everything! Can't wait to meet her sometime!
The pictures were great Abbie! I've been thinking about you. Hunter seems like a huge helper. It's really sweet seeing pics of the two of them together.
Those pictures are precious! What a great big brother Hunter had turned out to be! I knew he would be! She is a gorgeous little girl! I can't wait to hold her myself!
