Kindergarten

Hunter loves school so far! His favorite part of the day is recess (go figure)! Wednesday, his first day, we all took him to school...he was a little nervous but also excited. His teacher is really nice and I think a good fit for him. By the end of the week, Hunter was ready for me to drop him off in car line and find his room himself! He's a boy of few words and I haven't been able to get much out of him except through bits and pieces. He liked Art class and PE. He said they don't have time to work at school b/c they have too much paper work and recess to do... some reason I don't believe this :) Friday was the Pep Rally for school Spirit Day. Caroline and I joined the other Moms/younger siblings at the Pep Rally to watch the kids sing/dance to the school song. I was able to catch a sneak peak of Hunter with his friends at lunch before the Pep Rally. Here are just a few pictures of his big day/week!

Beach

My favorite place of all time is the BEACH!!! Doesn't really matter which beach as long as there is sand to squish between my toes and the ocean to listen to as my music...I'm a happy camper! Give me some random people to people watch and I can be entertained for hours on end! This year was tons of fun at both beach excursions! Hunter is seriously into digging the biggest and deepest hole on the beach and of course always needs a worker bee to instruct what to do! Caroline is my soul mate when it comes to the sun loving beach-er that I am... she loved basking in the sun either in a chair or laying right in the sand and having the ocean wash over her! A girl after my own heart! Here are just a few pictures.

Update

It's been forever since I've updated the blog I don't even know where to start. So, I've decided to update a few of my favorite pictures off the camera from the month of March!

Jason got to drive a race car in the NASCAR Experience. Which was tons of fun! Hunter and Caroline spend as much time outdoors as possible. Caroline has really started talking in sentences (putting 2 - 3 words together) and is finally calling Hunter by his name instead of Bubba... its precious to me to hear her use his name.. I love it! Hunter finished basketball and started baseball.. and loves playing baseball everyday and just being outside and playing sports in general... he loves school and got his first taste of a school project this past week. His imagination is amazing and he came up with the whole thing himself (He task was to decorate an Easter Egg anyway he wanted).

Ok, that's my short update for now.

Caroline's 2nd Birthday

Today we celebrated Caroline's 2nd Birthday! Time has flown by I can remember the day she was born like it was yesterday...everything from the dusting of snow that was on the ground when we went to the hospital in the early morning... to Hunter rushing downstairs to tell us bye before we left..to the whole family waiting there for us when they wheeled me into my room! What an exciting time...Caroline has changed so much from the tiny baby to an adorable, fun, wild, and crazy little girl! She definitely test my limits and patience at times.. but I love her all the more for it!

Caroline still has the FLU..at least the fever resulting from the flu so we are housebound again today. We were originally planning to go back to the RH Children's Museum with some friends but since we are trying hard not to spread the flu germ around we stayed home. To make this rainy day fun...we played with play-doh and did lots of paintings! We also made a homemade birthday cake (Hunter's idea to make it and decorate it )...the cake included pink icing, sprinkles, m&m's, and smarties (all Caroline's favorite candies)... it turned out pretty cute..and wild just like her! She of course cared nothing about the cake and just picked the candy off...Hunter just ate the icing!

Caroline's gift from us this year is a kitchen! She LOVED IT!!! She was so excited and we could tell she actually knew what it was when she opened it! Jason couldn't put it together fast enough..she was ready to play... I'm not sure what she liked best.. the refrigerator so she could make her own "Apple" (i.e. Juice)..which she pretended most of the time... or the cooking... or the phone (I'm thinking the phone might have won out).. she carried on multiple conversations with a variety of people.. i guess she had to call everyone and tell them her new phone number and all about her kitchen!

This morning, I tried to take her "birthday" picture in her chair. I have done this since Hunter was a baby a carried the tradition on with her. I never really remember Hunter having a major melt down about wanting my camera.. but lately, that's been Caroline... so, we had two attempts at getting her birthday picture in her chair... I'm not really sure we got a super cute picture but we definitely capture her stage in life right now... she showed her true colors...all b/c she wanted "MY" camera... I even tried giving her Hunter's camera that actually works and an old camera of mine that looks just like mine except it doesn't work..neither option would do.. so, although she looked adorable this morning in her birthday dress.. I never got a great picture in her chair to capture the moment... Hunter was ready and excited..and even opted to wear a nicer shirt... I was not really excited about the hand-me-down Batman shirt that he wanted to wear...

OK... I'm going to try and get some pictures up..b/c who are we kidding..that's really what we want to see anyway!

I'll edit this post with her photoshoot as soon as I can get them posted...

Hunter's 5th Birthday

Hunter had a great birthday weekend! It started Thursday at school. Thursday was "his day"... he got to lead the class and got to bring a special birthday snack (mini cupcakes, skittles, and gold fish...his choice)..he was so excited! He told me after the birthday snack that he was now 5 because they had celebrated his birthday! I had to remind him he didn't turn 5 until Friday...he didn't believe me. Friday, we went to the new Children's Museum here with some friends to celebrate his birthday! Friday night, Uncle Trey and Aunt Ashley spent the night and helped celebrate Hunter's birthday! Hunter's big present was a new basketball goal! Aunt Ashley helped me wrap the big box in the freezing cold (it was in the back of the car so Hunter couldn't see it)...Then Jason and Trey brought the present in to surprise Hunter! Uncle Trey was a HUGE help in getting the basketball goal together! Saturday, we all attended Hunter's first basketball game! He did great for not having a clue about how the game goes...taking turns playing, the buzzard (he hates loud noises)... his team won (even though they don't keep score).. after the game we came back home to finish getting ready for the party!

Only crazy people like us, who were desperate not to have a weekend party at Chuck E Cheese, get a bouncy house in January..when it's freezing cold! Thankfully, my prayers were answered and the sunshine came out and we had "NO RAIN..and it was Above freezing!" This was the first birthday that Hunter has not had rain... the weekend he was born it was even raining! We are so thankful for the sunshine! The kids had a great time playing outside in the bouncy house, playing basketball, and other fun! We wrapped the birthday festivities with celebrating with Grandparents and Aunts/Uncles Saturday night!

Overall, Hunter had a great 5th Birthday! I still can't believe he's 5 year old! CRAZY! Enjoy the pictures!

Snow Day!

We had a great snow day at home! Hard to believe it has snowed twice in the last few weeks! We had a great family day at home playing inside and especially playing in the snow outside! I couldn't find a sled (after my big hunt yesterday) so we improvised with a pampers box and a pool float. Hunter preferred the pampers box the best. The snow was too soft to make a snowman... but we had a pretty good snowball fight instead and lots of fun sledding down the hill in our backyard. Caroline looked so cute in her snowsuit! I'm so thankful that it still fits from last year! I loved watching her try to walk in the snow with her big ol' snow boots. On to the pictures! There are a lot of them! Enjoy!

Now time to focus on planning Hunter and Caroline's birthday parties!!!! They will be here soon!

Basketball

We're skipping right over Christmas right now...b/c too much to report on and too many pictures I haven't even downloaded them all..or gone through them... but I did want to share on our new sport!

Basketball!

Hunter had his first Basketball practice tonight. He had a great time and his best buddy from school is on his team! The coach had the kids running to warm, practice dribbling (which Hunter got really good at by the end of practice) and shooting baskets.

Here are a few pictures:
Listening to the head coordinator talk a little about Victory Sports. The kids practice basketball and then have a devotion time.

Dribbling the ball.
